The SSPP Church community graciously supports those who rely on us to eat each day and our supply of frozen meals is critically low and we need to support of the community to all chip in, even a few meals a month from more families can help replenish our supply of meals. We need about 175 meals every month.

It is not the number of meals each person makes, it is the number of participants that we need.

The people that receive these meals are very food-limited. This one meal is their main meal of the day. It should contain as much protein as possible, no hot dogs! Some of our clients have to use all their energy get up to place the meal in the oven each day.

How Do You Support Caring for Friends with Extra Meals?

Just have the meal plates from Caring for Friends (you can pick them up from our church freezer room in the narthex of the church) in the cabinet in your home so you can fill, wrap, freeze them and bring them to our church freezer on Saturday or Sunday when you come to Mass.

Examples of Meals Include:

  • Lasangna and Meatballs
  • Meatloaf, Potatoes and Green Beans
  • Chicken Pot Pie

We want these meals to be hearty, for some, it’s their only meal of the day.

I want to get this information out to as many other parishioners as possible. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

God Bless all of you for your good work,

Greg Cali, volunteer parish leader of Caring for Friends
